Lincoln School Committee re-elects Madrick chair and approves staff and METCO enrollments

LINCOLN — April 15, 2026 — Lincoln School Committee re-elects Madrick, plans summer refresh of strategic plan. Meeting at METCO Inc. in Roxbury, the committee voted unanimously to keep Matina Madrick as chair through March 2027 and to keep Susan Taylor as vice chair, with Jessica Callow joining Capital Planning and Thomas Nickerson taking the IDEA LPS seat. Superintendent Perry Graham's summative evaluation came in as "proficient" across all four state standards — "exemplary" on law, ethics and policies and "needs improvement" only on family engagement — and the committee approved enrolling 21 employee children in K-8 plus six in preschool, and as many as 25 new Boston resident students against a longstanding 91-student METCO cap that members now want to revisit. Business Administrator Angela reported $476,000 available on the Lincoln side through Q3, down from $754,000 a year ago, with utilities at 109 percent after a snowy winter cut solar production. "Our guiding light should be making sure kids aren't isolated," Madrick said of the METCO policy.
