Transfer Station Closes July 4; Extended Hours Set for July 1
The town's Transfer Station will shut down for the Independence Day holiday on Saturday, July 4, with an extended Wednesday opening added to soften the disruption for residents.
TOWN HALL
The Transfer Station on Saturday, July 4 will be closed in observance of the holiday. To make up for the missed day, the facility will stay open until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1 — later than its usual closing time. Residents who normally make a Saturday run should plan to stop by that Wednesday instead. Full details are posted on the town's civic alerts page at lincolntown.org.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Lincoln Public Library has a busy stretch coming up starting tomorrow. On Wednesday, June 17, the library hosts three events: the Knitting & Stitching Group for those who enjoy needlework of any kind; Wordsmove Theater, a staged reading of short humorous plays; and the Summer Reading Kick-Off Party for children, featuring crafts and activities to launch the season.
Separately, the library's Board of Trustees is seeking applicants for an open trustee seat. The board notes it has a particular interest in candidates who want to serve in that governance role. Interested residents can find more information at lincolnpl.org. The board is also recognizing Peter Sugar as he steps down from his trustee position.
