Lincoln METCO sets June 6 community-wide Juneteenth celebration

LINCOLN — A quiet news day in town, with the most concrete item coming from the schools: Lincoln METCO has announced a community-wide Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 6, sponsored by the Boston Bridges Initiative.

SCHOOLS Lincoln METCO will host a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 6, from 12:30 to 4 p.m., according to the Lincoln Public Schools homepage. Vendor tables open at 12:30 p.m., the formal Juneteenth program runs from 1 to 2 p.m., and outdoor festivities follow from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The district says the afternoon will feature performances from the Boston Kroc Center, local and community vendors, live music, a STEP team, poetry, dance, a DJ, food, and bouncy houses. The event is billed as community-wide and open to families across Lincoln.

In other district news, the Lincoln Public Schools Family Feedback Survey remains open for parents and caregivers, per a notice posted on the district site. Superintendent Parry Graham's most recent bi-weekly message to families went out May 22 ahead of the Memorial Day weekend; the next regular update is expected in early June.

At Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, the most recent community news posting remains Superintendent/Principal Andrew Stephens' April 30 "LS News & Happenings" letter, along with a May 14 notice for the student film "Sonder," which premiered May 18.
