Lincoln METCO sets June 6 Juneteenth celebration with afternoon program

LINCOLN — A quiet Memorial Day weekend left Lincoln's official news channels largely silent Sunday, with no new posts from Town Hall, the Lincoln Public Library or the town's commercial news outlets. The most concrete item on residents' radar: Lincoln METCO's community-wide Juneteenth celebration, set for Saturday, June 6.

SCHOOLS

Lincoln Public Schools is promoting a Juneteenth celebration presented by Lincoln METCO and sponsored by the Boston Bridges Initiative on Saturday, June 6, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Vendor tables open at 12:30, the formal program runs 1 to 2 p.m., and outdoor festivities follow from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Organizers list Boston Kroc Center performances, a STEP team, poetry, dance, a DJ, bouncy houses, food and local vendors.

The most recent district communication remains Superintendent Parry Graham's bi-weekly message of May 22, which previewed the Memorial Day weekend. No new district news posted in the past 48 hours.

At Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, the most recent items on the community news feed remain the May 14 "News & Happenings" update from Superintendent/Principal Andrew Stephens and a reminder about the May 18 premiere of the student film "Sonder."
